At Fitz’n’Jammer we talk a lot about B2C Creative Companies.
Obviously we serve those types of companies, consider them to be important, and actively look and advertise for them.
• What does B2C Creative Companies mean?
• And is my business one of them?
We’re so glad that you asked.
Definition of B2C
The first part of our niche market definition is easy. B2C is a relatively common phrase used by businesses and freelancers.
B2C = Business-to-Consumer
Basically we primarily prefer to write for those companies that sell products, goods, services, and information to consumers.
Definition of Creative Companies
Can you even sell creativity?
The old answer was no. But at Fitz’n’Jammer we think that it can be done…and done right!
We’ve put together some ideals that help to define our vision of companies and markets that we think sell some top-notch creativity, and that we would love to work with.
A creative company offers or does something that fulfills one of the following criteria. They:
1. Create Beauty
Many products create beauty – or assist others to create beauty. Companies that would fall under this subheading of our niche market would be:
• Visual Arts
• Arts & Crafts
• Domestic Arts – such as gardening, cooking, and decorating
Offering music to the world, for instance, creates sheer beauty. The beauty of the music itself, the talent of the performers, and the beauty that the audience perceives.
Then there is the beauty of the visual arts.
• Graphic design
• Fabric art
• And many, many more. Of course some of those, like painting, photography, and cooking can excite the imagination as well.
Offering ways for others to create beauty, like art supplies, fabric stores, and training videos, are all part of this wonderful journey, as well.
2. Inspire Greatness
The phrase “inspire greatness” instantly takes us to moments of greatness.
Michelangelo at the Sistine Chapel, William Wallace on a Scottish battlefield, the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, the development of a new, life-saving surgery.
All of which are great definitions and images for greatness and the inspiration thereof.
The question is, how do we relate the inspiration of greatness to a B2C product or company?
The truth is there are many ways to do this – and beauty and imagination helps to inspire greatness.
In fact, it is in the peaceful moments of the soul when a human mind can best grasp at greatness. The dimensional beauty of a finely prepared meal, or the quietness of tending to a garden, helps humanity to grow stronger for the trials ahead.
But for the purposes of marketing, we have selected the education sector for our target ideal.
Education is vitally important to both East and West for the simple reason that a person’s education is the basis for their worldview. Educate a child when they are young, and you inspire greatness, or mediocrity, or weakness. Education helps to influence light vs. dark, hope vs. despair, and a thousand other qualities that help define a person’s ultimate life choices.
However, we’re going to break it down even further.
History is the principle part of education that teaches and inspires greatness. History teaches us about William Wallace, the Sistine Chapel, and the Declaration of Independence.
History tells us about heroes and villains, the rise and the fall, principle in action, and much, much more.
Plus it’s just interesting.
Myth and legend, story and fact. Even dates and locations can be interesting – when taught in the right ways.
Languages, of course, inspire greatness. Learning new languages is a great way to stimulate new pathways in the brain.
Language inspires communication, teaches wisdom, provides the space for peace – and the stage for conflict. Language records our history, and enhances our presence.
Inspiring greatness begins with the language of today, and in the memories of the past.
3. Excite the Imagination
Exciting the imagination requires finding another level of the human mind, and interacting with it. The ability to do this is a great gift; highly prized and yet all-too-easily dismissed.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines imagination to mean: “The act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality.”
Imagination can also mean; creative ability, the ability to deal with a problem, the thinking of an active mind, and a fanciful or empty assumption.
Products or services that might excite the imagination can be:
• Entertainment & Digital Media
Movies…TV…books…comic books…road trips…world trips …and high-class art all excite the imagination. They take us around the world, under the earth, into space, past new and bewildering dimensions. They create fantasies, threads to realities, and explanations for cosmic mysteries.
Which is why Fitz’n’Jammer finds it so wonderful to be able to serve these types of companies.
Discovering New Creativity
Choosing such a wide niche might seem a little bit foolish. After all, a niche is there for the sole purpose of narrowing down what freelancers’ do, why they do it, and who they will do it for. A broad niche like the one described above really allows quite a few new companies and ideas to slip through the cracks.
So why do it?
Because the team here at Fitz’n’Jammer has a broad range of interests, for one. Both of us enjoy a variety of arts, entertainments, passions, and learning topics that we constantly pursue and build on in our daily lives.
Also because we don’t want to close in our borders, so to speak.
We have already defined what we do – online marketing & design.
We have defined why we do it – because we want to help companies that we can be passionate about.
We have also defined who we will do it for – B2C Creative Companies.
And finally we chose such a broad niche because we want new companies and ideas to slip through the defining wall of our clientele and inspire us with new ideas, gifts, and greatness.
We racked our brains for weeks trying to remember all the types of companies and marketable products that can be defined by the simple phrase, B2C Creative Companies.
Did we get all of them?
We seriously, seriously doubt it.
So we want to see more new ideas on what our niche really means, and on who we really want to serve. Did we forget one type of company under the music heading? Or did we forget a new heading entirely? We’d love to hear about it!
Making Allowances for Passion
Finally, the truth at Fitz’n’Jammer is that passion in business is more important to us than the actual content.
We are here to serve people and help special companies get their online marketing off to a running start and find some smooth sailing. Just because these are the types of industries we are most interested in doesn’t mean we will reject a company out-of-hand just because it’s not ‘creative’ enough.
We are especially referring to the B2B market here. While we specialize in B2C we’ll always consider special B2B companies.
So as long as you need high-quality, smooth-working online marketing & design – even if your company is not creative by the greatest stretch of the imagination – drop us a line, please, and we’ll see if we can help you.
Here’s hoping that this article helps clear up any confusion about what we do and why. If it did or didn’t please leave us a comment below, or contact us directly, and let us know.
